Nic Hallett

Nic is the Managing Director at Excel Communications as well as managing many of the senior client accounts, coaching and training. Prior to joining the company he had a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry, initially in sales and management, followed by a diverse series of learning and development roles working with individuals, senior teams and at an organisational level. He is one of the company’s leading developers of teams and people, either as part of creating a high performance culture or managing the change brought about by strategic changes, mergers and acquisitions.

Nic has an engaging, fun and interactive style, bringing creativity to a range of learning events. He has a particular passion for working with teams and training trainers, as well as having designed the outstanding “Outcome Selling” sales programme.

    Milestones in his career to date include:
  • Managing Director of Excel Communications from 2010
  • Board Director of Excel Communications since 2004
  • Training consultant at Excel Communications since 1999 managing design and delivery of interventions including:
    • management training and team development
    • global Train The Trainer accreditation programmes
    • communication and selling skills for sales people
    • influencing and communication skills for healthcare and clinical professionals
  • Ten years delivering Organisational Development, Sales Training, Coaching and Management in a top ten pharmaceutical organisation

Life science degree educated, Nic is certified in the use and application of the MBTI and FIRO-B, licensed in Social Styles and is an NLP Master Practitioner.

In addition to his family life, Nic is also a BSAC Dive Leader and has recently been Chairman of one of Berkshire’s largest scuba diving clubs.

 

 

Andy Waiton

Andrew joined the team in September 2006 as Head of Sales & Marketing for The Excel Academy.

The Excel Academy is a service designed to help healthcare clients develop and support their Opinion Leader and Advocacy Development Programmes.

Andrew joined after spending five successful years with Innovex, where he worked in sales management and marketing roles in oncology, medical diagnostics and psychiatry.

With over 18 years' sales and marketing experience in blue chip healthcare companies, Andrew brings with him a wealth of knowledge and insight.  He has worked in a range of therapeutic areas, including asthma, cardiology, psychiatry, oncology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and orthopaedics.

In many of these roles, Andrew was involved in developing and implementing Opinion Leader Programmes and it is his intimate familiarity with, and passion for this area of marketing communications that led him to Excel.

Andrew is a true expert in his field and many clients are already benefiting from his practical and innovative approach.

 

 

Rachel Burton

Rachel is an Account Manager at Excel Communications and has also developed the L3MA (Level 3 Multi-user Assessment) tool for measuring the impact of training and our Excel Encore offering; a service dedicated to pre and post workshop engagement, ensuring successful implementation of learning.

Having been with the company since 2005, Rachel has gained significant experience and knowledge of managing, and often exceeding, our clients’ expectations. In addition, she manages our training faculty; recruiting world class trainers, matching their personality, previous business experience and training expertise to complement each event.

Rachel joined Excel Communications with a prestigious CV which included a senior production role at the BBC and a training and development role in the government’s education department. Media degree educated, Rachel is also qualified in Prince2Management, has a Wellards Diploma and trained as a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher; spending time in Poland where she put her skills to good use.

In her spare time, Rachel is a passionate scuba diver and instructor, enjoys overseas travel and walking in the Lake District.

 

 

Gary Hartwell

Business Development Manager Gary is the Business Development Manager specialising in Excel Enterprise, the sales centre of excellence at Excel Communications, delivering world class training solutions for sales professionals through diagnosing, designing and delivering tailored in-house learning events including coaching, workshops and development programmes for salespeople and their managers.

Not surprisingly Gary brings over 20 years of extensive sales and marketing experience to the role, in a wide range of sectors and markets. Immediately prior to joining Excel Enterprise he worked for 10 years in the training industry, specialising in bespoke high level training programmes and blended learning. He brings to Excel Enterprise his passion for delivering real, measurable benefits to our clients.

Outside of work Gary enjoys travel, walking and cycling and is a keen photographer.

 

 

Patrick O'Neill

Patrick has worked in sales and account management in the training, development and outplacement sector for 15 years. During this time he has partnered with public and private sector organisations to help them implement and deliver successful organisational change projects in the UK and abroad.

Patrick has a particular interest in individual personal development, believing that motivated and engaged employees create a positive work culture and ultimately better results for organisations.

Away from the office Patrick pursues his passion for the outdoors by leading walking trips in the UK’s mountains (he is a qualified Mountain Leader) and managing cycling events.
